Being a Santa Cruz native, I know I am very fortunate to have grown up in this diverse county. I’ve lived in Midtown Santa Cruz, up in the redwoods, blocks from Seacliff Beach, and now I’m down the street from Capitola Village. I’ll be the first to tell you: that Santa Cruz looks good from every angle.
I enjoy everything that comes with the local culture. I grew up on a cruiser bike and watched my friends indulge in the surf and skate culture – I loved every bit of it! Endless summer nights on Seabright Beach, eating Al Pastor burritos from Taco Moreno, and riding the Typhoon over and over again at the Boardwalk are ingrained in my childhood memory bank.
Locally grown, I graduated from Harbor High School, attended Cabrillo College, and then transferred and graduated from UCSC (go Banana Slugs!). I have a degree in Pure Mathematics and originally planned on becoming a middle school or high school math teacher.
My career path led me in a different direction, and right after college, I became a certified hot yoga instructor. I began immersing myself in the yoga practice and joined the thriving local community of health seekers and yogis. I did, in fact, end up teaching – it just wasn’t in the discipline I was originally expecting. Instead of teaching the Quadratic Equation, I was leading people in Downward Dog – and it was so much fun!
As a yoga instructor, I learned a ton about public speaking, clarity, tonality, and communication. I was able to transfer all of these core skills into the world of real estate, where my role revolved around clear communication, agent training, and team development.
While I was teaching yoga, I received my Real Estate License. I worked for a local team before accepting the position as Ben Strock’s assistant in the spring of 2017. Since then, I’ve facilitated over 300 transactions, watched the Strock Team grow exponentially, and seen my career on that same trajectory. Today, I am the Director of Operations.
Outside of work, I keep pretty active in the community. I got engaged in spring 2021 to my wonderful fiancée Rene. We recently rescued an abandoned puppy, we’ve named Miley; she’s a beautiful Dutch Sheppard. She definitely keeps us on our feet — we spend a lot of time walking our neighborhood, hiking, mountain biking, and running around on the beach on the weekend. We also have two kitties, Eros and Oliver, who hold down the homestead and give us all the kitty snuggles we could ask for.
In the future, I dream of starting a family and owning my own home right here in my hometown!
