Welcome to Soquel

Soquel Real Estate & Community

Settled into the gentle foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the unincorporated area of Soquel real estate and community makes the most of its stunning surroundings. In Soquel, you can hike in the redwoods, bike down mountain trails, enjoy grassroots restaurants (seriously, there’s a vegetarian place!), and sip at picturesque wineries along Soquel Creek. Why wouldn’t you move here?

Soquel Food

When you come to Soquel – especially the Village – we suggest you come hungry. From fine dining to casual eateries, it’s easy to find food for any mood. Lately, one of our favorite quick bites is Pretty Good Advice, the vegetarian place we mentioned earlier. Their breakfast sammies are out of this world and smattered with house-made tomato jam (yum!). We’re also big fans of joints like El Chipotle for an authentic burrito, The Ugly Mug for some home-brewed coffee, and Home for an elevated dining experience that avoids being pretentious.

For sitting and sipping, you’ll have to get over to Bargetto Winery. With a private perch overlooking Soquel Creek, you’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into Wonderland (complete with special drinks!). You could also spend an afternoon at Vinocruz, a cozy winebar with delicious bites, or Beer Thirty, which is stacked with tons of games for friends and families.

Soquel Family

On top of all of these super fun activities that you can bring the whole family to, Soquel also has housing options for crews of any size. From cozy turn-of-the-century bungalows to massive compounds on acreage, you’ll find that Goldilocks spot for your family’s needs.

Once you’re settled into your dream home, you’ll have a fabulous selection of schools for your kids. The Soquel Union Elementary School District has one of the highest concentrations of top-ranked public schools in California, scoring in the top 30%, statewide. Top-ranked public schools include Santa Cruz Gardens Elementary School, Main Street Elementary School, and New Brighton Middle School.

Soquel Fun

Speaking of fun for friends and family, there are so many incredible activities in Soquel. If you want to drift in and out of antique shops, you’re in luck. If you want to stroll along the river and enjoy the gorgeous scenery, you’re in luck. Or if you want to barrel down a mountainside on a bike, again, you’re in luck. Stick to Soquel Village if antiquing is your thing – with over half a dozen curated curio shops, you’re bound to find some treasure.

Soquel Fitness

For something a little more fitness forward, you have to check out the Land of the Medicine Buddha. This 108-acre magical retreat that sits a couple miles down a private road plunges you into the middle of the redwoods. Enjoy the healing silence of the trees, or take to one of the hiking trails that meanders into the lush scenery. If silence and serenity don’t align with fun in your vocabulary, then you will love the Soquel Demonstration Forest. Grab your mountain bike (and a helmet!) and adventure down miles of trails in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Several local businesses organize group rides that you can join too! Get a list of local restaurants in Soquel
